They managed to raise over 110,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support last year and this summer they're going at it again - the annual House of Lords vs House of Commons Tug of War is back for a 25th year. The typically English setting of Westminster College Gardens plays host to this light-hearted skirmish between these two houses of Parliament as they battle it out to raise money for the Macmillan cancer support charity. Last year it was the Commons who came out on top as they retained their title with a 2-0 victory of the Lords. BBC2's Jeremy Vine often plays the role of commentator and brings a witty repertoire to the occasion. Hedge your bets With Ladbrokes on board with the odds, the guests to the Tug of War were soon sporting their rosettes to show who they were backing. Ticket Price £75 - Proceeds go to Macmillan Cancer Trust  BUY YOUR TICKETS NOW WATCH 2011 TUG OF WAR

A survey to monitor the different bird species that use a seasonal wetland either for as feeding, breeding or roosting ground. Find out which species is dominant and ascertain the species diversity and species dominance between seasons which will aid in estimating trend in population size Potential Project Site/Area: During the dry season, there is intense farming activities and burning as well, while the same area is flooded during the rainy season and provides habitat for various wetland plants and breeding ground for bird species (migratory). What ecosystem services are provided by the seasonal wetland to the environment and the bird species is thought to be a question of concern. Anthropogenic activities, especially farming, are the major causes of habitat loss which has been reported to be the major cause of loss of diversity and extinction. There is a potential impact of farming activity (nutrient loading) on the habitat but local people need to sustain their lives through subsistence farming for income generation. What then is possible trade off between farming at and around the wetland and the use of the same land by coastal and wild birds? This stands to be the major question to redress.
