At Cofradia's Bilingual School, we depend on our international volunteer teaching team to bring our vision of quality multicultural education to life. Without these volunteer English teachers, CBS simply could not afford to run and function as a bilingual school. Many families in Cofradia hold a bilingual education for their children above all else because they understand how many opportunities a strong command of the English language can bring these students. As an international team of teachers at CBS, it is important that we not just teach, but evaluate what more can be done for these students, their families, and the school as a whole. One of the best parts about teaching at CBS is the endless opportunities it offers to get to know and serve the students and the community of Cofradia. The community is very welcoming and holds our volunteer teachers in high regard. It is much more than just another teaching job. No prior work or teaching experience is required for this position. We are primarily interested in individuals with a commitment to volunteer teach to improve the lives of our students. We are currently recruiting volunteer teachers for Pre-k to 11th grade for the 2017/2018 school year which begins mid August and ends early June.

Next year will be my 3rd at CBS. I came here with the intention of staying for one year, but I can't leave (not literally we do have an airport) but mentally, I just think of this place as where I should be. Watching the kids I teach develop makes me want to keep them on that path and as I continue to develop as a teacher, I think I can do a better job helping them. I love the town and love the calm lifestyle here. I play for a local soccer team and relax a lot, which are my 2 main hobbies. I don't know how long I will stay, but I know my decision to come here was the brightest decision my lovely brain has made.

CBS is the best decision I ever made! Easily the most rewarding two years of my life. If you want a program where you can really get to know the kids, families, and other volunteers at the school, volunteering at CBS is for you. There is so much opportunity to help there, and the school and parents genuinely appreciate every volunteer that devotes their time to coming to teach. I have already been back to visit once since I left in 2015 and I can't imagine ever going very long without going back to see all of the students and families that have become some of the most important people in my life. If you want to make a positive impact in the lives of children, Cofradía's Bilingual School is truly an exceptional experience.

I've lived in Cofradia as a volunteer English teacher for a total of 8 months now and I can no longer even imagine being anywhere else doing anything else. The school, my students, and even some of their families bring me so much happiness and have become such an important part of my life. As if that is not enough, I get to come home everyday feeling like I contributed something positive to the lives of my students. I truly believe that we help provide our students with what they need to create better futures for themselves than they may have otherwise been able to if it weren't for this amazing school and the dedicated volunteers who make it possible. If you want a fulfilling, challenging, life-changing experience, I strongly suggest you consider CBS as an option!
