Do the volunteer will pay?
Well, this project is a private, non-profit organization that is not associated with any political or religious activities. Our objective is to initiate and coordinate the support and help through national and foreigner volunteers in different communities which need help for carrying out their activities. So the volunteer just will pay a very small fee for their daily meals and the service and attention when you arrive in Quito, everything else is free.
Do I need Visa?
This information applies exclusively to international volunteers. Normally, volunteers with passports from most parts of North America, Europe, and Asia can stay in Ecuador for up to 90 days without needing a visa (tell the immigration desk that your purpose in Ecuador is “tourism”). If volunteers wish to stay in Ecuador for a period of 90 to 180 days, the volunteers should apply for a tourist visa for up to 6 months in the nearest Ecuadorian Consulate before arriving in Ecuador (again, your purpose is “tourism”). For volunteers who want to stay for more than 180 days, We can advise you on how to apply for a volunteer visa. If you are not sure about the visa requirements for your country, please contact the nearest Ecuadorian Embassy or Consulate.
Free Time Activities
Many of the families/communities where these projects take place are in rural areas and thus do not offer a lot in the way of free time activities. Some projects, particularly in the Amazon or Costal, give volunteers the chance to get up close and personal with the nature, families, agriculture, farming activities and swimming near the project. On weekends, volunteers can visit neighbouring cities, beaches, do some sports, fishing in the sea, dancing, swimming in the sea, but during the week volunteers often entertain themselves with games, teaching classes, music, reading, and other activities with the families or others volunteers. Be sure to bring some games and books from home to keep you occupied during down time.Farming in Ecuador
