I am interested in volunteering abroad but first i would like to try doing that in my own country. That wouldnt be a problem, would it? And if not, would it affect the cost in any way?

That's a great idea...as the saying goes..."charity begins at home". Where is youe home? Do we have projects listed there already? If not and you find one please do send them our way. WE would be happy to vet any new organisations.
