Worldwide Helpers needs £36,500 in order to launch the website, cover the 1st year running costs, and promote awareness. To date we have raised close to £13,600 funds thru our first event, the WWH 5K Fun Run.

2008 GRANT SCHEME

All additional funds will go towards our 2008 Grant Scheme. This scheme will support 8 selected projects each year. Each of the projects selected will fall in line with one of the 8 Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) set out by the United Nations. Please note that Worldwide Helpers will not be allocating funds directly to the organisations rather it will use the funds to provide the organisation with either manpower or materials:

a) Sponsor a highly qualified person to take time out of their regular life and go and assist much needed causes. For example, sending a specialist eye surgeon to a hospital in India, where they do not have the know-how to perform the necessary operations. This falls in line with MDG 6.

b) Providing materials. This may be something as simple as sending seeds & fishing nets to organisation that are trying to eradicate extreme hunger. This falls in line with MDG 1.
